Questions?

Let us answer some frequently asked..

Does Sip Sell alcohol?

No, Sip is a BYO service. We do not have a liquor license therefore you supply the alcohol and we do everything else. If you would like something special, we are happy to put you in touch with the sales team at Churton. We can arrange a complimentary tasting on the vineyard or at a venue of your choice. The sales team are also on hand to offer guidance on quantities and varietals. They know it’s hard to budget for large events and so offer a sale and return policy on unopened wines, meaning you can relax in knowing you will only pay for what you use on the night.

Are Glasses Included?

Yes, 100 stemless flutes and 100 stemless wine glasses are included in each hire. This provides you with glassware for up to 100 guests. Churton aim to be sustainable in everything they do and the tasting room is no different. We all believe in minimising our impact on the environment and therefore Sip does not provide glass washing facilities. Instead we encourage guests to reuse their glass again and again.

Do we need to supply power?

Sip uses power to run lights, so power is preferable. However, we can run off grid using batteries. We do have a 10m extension cord so if power is available we can plug in on the spot.

How do you keep drinks cold?

Sip has a large sink which we fill with ice to keep a selection of drinks chilled and on display. We also have a large chilly bin to hold additional beverages in the caravan itself.

We recommend that you have a main storage system prepared and chill your drinks a day or two in advance. Most liquor stores have a complimentary chiller with purchase, or you can hire one from a local hire shop.

How big is Sip?

Sip is a 10ft caravan. Measurements are 4.5metres in length (including the 1.5m drawbar), 2metres in width, and 2.4metres in height. The caravan is lightweight (600kg) and can be maneuvered by hand into small spaces with ease. Level ground is a must.

Does Sip travel?

No. Unfortunately Sip only services the Marlborough region. All travel costs are included in each package however if you are unsure of your location please don’t hesitate to ask.

How do I book?

Once we have all your details and you are happy with the quote, we will send you an agreement to sign and invoice for the deposit. A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining amount will be due 7 days prior to your event.
